Welcome to my webpage! I am currently doing a postdoc under the supervision of Prof. Michael Shelley . I share my time between the Courant Institute (NYU) and the Flatiron Institute (a few blocks away), where I am part of the Biophysical Modeling Group . Mike and I are working on characterizing the weakly nonlinear stochastic dynamics of an active fluid model.
Before that, I completed my Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. François Gallaire in the Laboratory of Fluid Mechanics and Instabilities at EPFL. In the thesis, we proposed a method to derive weakly nonlinear equations for the amplitudes of nonmodal flow responses, whether triggered by harmonic or stochastic forcing, or by an initial condition.
It is also from EPFL that I earned both a Bachelor and a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering! There, I became passionate about Hydrodynamic stability through the classes that François teaches at the Master program. I found in this field the possibility of carrying out beautiful and profound theoretical works, on phenomena which have immediate and important physical manifestations (e.g., waves, turbulence in pipe flows, flows past an airfoil, etc).
For my Master project, I had the pleasure to spend six months at the DAMTP at the University of Cambridge, under the supervision of Prof. Colm-Cille Caulfield and Prof. Adrien Lefauve . Together with François, the four of us have worked on the absolute/convective discrimination and the effect of lateral confinement, on stratified shear instabilities occurring in an exchange flow generated in an inclined square duct.
